Re: rifle vs unholstered handgun for checking out trespass situation
I would put up Under 24 hour surveillance signs, fake and real video cameras. No dumping sings and no trespassing sings.
It's not worth going out there to tell them that they shouldn't be doing what they already know they shouldn't be doing.
A lot of bad things can happen.,

Re: rifle vs unholstered handgun for checking out trespass situation
^ This seems like the best advice I've read.
Is this occurring during the day or night? Night time changes things considerably.
FWIW Someone trespassing and scattering rubbish or committing other criminal acts, immediately has a credibility issue as far as I am concerned (Just my .02 cents worth)"It seems that the Constitution is more or less guidelines than actual rules"

This!!!!!!
While dumped tires are annoying being in an altercation that gets you shot or arrested over some tires is more annoying.
The trail cam is the best idea as well as involving the police. As far as the rifle it’s a bad idea especially if it’s being brought out for the intimidation factor.
Guns are tools not toys handle and use them accordingly.
I’ve only taken a shot gun out once on my property and that’s because I saw a large bear on one end of my property and my kids were at the other end of the property playing.
We had a guy two weeks ago ar the edge of my property making all sorts of noise I put my pistol on my belt and went for s drive to see what he was up to. He ended up being a special needs adult in his 50’s looking for recycling money. Running down with an AR to confront a special needs adult with a pointy stick with a can on the end of it might have looked real bad especially with anyone passing by.Last edited by Hodgie; October 22nd, 2018 at 11:17 AM.

Some type of body camera so the narrative can’t be turned against her and if at night, a quality light.
Handgun vs. rifle- both have their pro and cons. Some type of training or practice would be beneficial, whether it be professional or simply you and her acting out a “confrontation”.

Re: rifle vs unholstered handgun for checking out trespass situation
I'm not totally opposed to the rifle. There just aren't enough details for me. You can't go wrong with a holstered handgun though.
Cameras hopefully will help. I've had zero luck getting legible license plates at night because of the reflective material on the plate
A slung rifle may be appropriate? If it's night time the risks go up and if I absolutely have to investigate (yeah I'm taking an AR) but I'm also calling out to the trespasser(s) from a position of concealment/cover and ideally they never know what I have."It seems that the Constitution is more or less guidelines than actual rules"
