Default Why aren't new outdoor ranges and gun clubs being formed in PA. ?

Where I live there are practically no outdoor ranges. There is really only one and it is old and expensive, especially for new members.

I understand that land is limited but with the increased interest in the shooting sports I would think that it could be a viable business opportunity for some people. Just look at how much land is dedicated to golf.

Other ranges I have been invited to were great but driving an hour and a half one way, shooting for a couple of hours and then driving back home is tiring . For me the driving takes some of the enjoyment out of the range trip.

    Because NIMBY's that's way.
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

I can appreciate that to a degree. Even the most densely parts of an region still has some open space that could have a hundred yard and shorter ranges.

Sounds like a business opportunity for you. Now all you need is a million dollars and a business plan.
