    Default Charter Arms Bulldog

I just purchase a Charter Arms Bulldog made in Bridgeport. It has the nickle finish, tapered barrel.
It also has a semi bobbed hammer that has serrations on the top back side. Does not look homemade.
I have read that CA offered a "pocket hammer", but can't find any substantiation for that
Also, I have read that the nickle finish was iiify as it was put on too heavy, and a "working" nickle gun was kinda rare. I didn't know that until after I bought it.
    Here is picture.
    Any info would be appreciated.
I also have a CA bulldog in blue made in Stratford, and a newer Boomer in 44 spc.

I too have an early nickle one. My pops carried one daily, he had an early blued version and a stainless with the aforementioned pocket hammer. The pocket hammer stainless I guess to have been made around 83 or so later, the blued was from the mid 70s heyday.

Here's a shot of mine in .44SP I got it from my father and don't know much about it. It appears to be SS but a magnet sticks to it. It is DA/SA and the hammer looks like it's been ground.

    Where were they made?
My nickle finish was made in Bridgeport, Conn, a very early mfg.

the hammer actually seems to modified by a user, not stock.
Action is very smooth compared to the blued one made in Stratford, Conn that I have. sn 7222xx

SOS was a 4 inch 44 special blued.Had the opportunity to examine it after the case was closed ! Pure evil in that particular firearm, not the Mfg or caliber !
