They breed in your sink traps, even a kitchen sink that's used daily - doesn't matter.

The eat decomposing organic matter and thrive in wet environments.

When you aren't using your kitchen sink, put a rubber super in both basins, and do this religiously.

Don't leave dishes in the sink, again, religiously.

    Keep your trash can outside.

Do these things and they'll be gone in a week. Falter at all, and they'll always be there.

    That's for crabs.

These work great. I put on above the sink , trash can and toilet.

for actual fruit flies you can use those yellow sticky cards, they're bright yellow cards, sticky like syrup.
i don't believe the fungus bastards are attracted to them.

supposedly they recommend a splash of bleach into the drains. my wife said you can do the vinegar cup and a drop of soap instead ot the plastic.
soap probably just reduces surface tension so they drown.
There is no way to make it out alive...

I bought some fly strips, but they were made in China. NO GOOD; the flies just used them as a rest stop, and then took off again. Finally found some made in Poland. They work well ( Tractor Supply ). I will try blocking all drains. Can't think of any other breeding areas. I did bug bomb the basement.
