    Default bolt/single shot ar15

I've been looking for a bolt action(non semi auto) upper for either ar15 or ar10. I know I can take my gas blocks off etc, but I want to use one or the other for hunting. I know it's been brought up a million times on here, but I found this today in my search

They are out of the UK. has anyone seen anything similar to this? Or any other ideas on a bolt action upper?

Yes. The POF-USA "ReVolt" AR type rifle. Made to sell in states that are putting severe restrictions on AR type rifles. Reports are that they are shooting more accurately than the semi's. Not a bad idea. Straight pull rifle with AR ergonomics. Magazine feed with bolt action accuracy. One is 260, 6mmBR, or 7mm/08 would make a neat long range rifle.

I seen a 50 cal. at the gun show yesterday mounted to an AR lower. Single shot bolt action. Might be a bit too heavy for bambi.
Have you considered a pump action AK? That would give the game wardens a fit.

I would build a seperate upper in a hunting configuration and use an SLR adjustable gas block. You can turn the gas off so it does not cycle the next round. Voila, your hunting rig has arrived.

Except that the PGC requires that any formerly semiautomatic weapon be "permanently" altered to a manually operated action.

    What about a Mossberg MVP?

Buy one of the old Vulcan/Hesse rifles. All they made were single shot ARs.

If I really wanted an AR style rifle that wasn't semi, this would be it. Being left eye dominant makes it an even better solution for me, as bolt actions are often right hand shooter friendly only. Folding stock makes it nice and compact when you need it to be, a nice plus.

I just can't picture firing a scoped AR15, removing the butt from my shoulder, reaching around/under whatever-it-takes for the charging handle, pushing the rifle forward while holding the CH or whatever the hell I'd wind up doing trying to get the next round chambered, remounting the rifle and coming back on a receding if not gone target.

Sounds like a whole of lot of fun just to be able to carry what looks like an AR but ain't.
