    Default Denied concealed carry license

I've been an act 235 agent for the past 6 years I recently renewed my ACT 235 and and applied for my concealed carry permit and was denied and all they said was my character was bad and I owe $200 how do I deal with this. I'm going to court to find out what the $200 is for and pay it but any advice on how to deal with this thanks.

Ok.. let's start with the fact that PA does not have or issue a "Concealed Carry permit".. sounds trivial but legally it is not trivial.
PA issues a License to Carry Firearms (LTCF) you do need this, or be Law Enforcement, to carry concealed or loaded in a means of conveyance.

Good start is to contact a lawyer that specializes in these problems.. there are a couple on this forum, one that specifically comes to mine is "gunlawyer" Phil Kline

As was already stated, for these kinds of questions you need to talk to a reputable lawyer that specializes in gun law.
That is the only way to be sure the advice you are getting is 100% reliable.

Methinks there is more to the story.
There is no $200 fee to clear up a character issue. I am guessing the OP has outstanding fines and they are saying that not payment by them is a character issue.

More to the story: Look where the OP lives. Wouldn't surprise me if the source of the "bad character $200 owed" was a traffic camera ticket....

Philly has been known to deny for parking tickets before. Lawyer up, it's probably going to be a fight.

Yep and it sucks that they couldn't just tell the guy what the two hundred bucks is owed for specifically.Assuming that that is the case,it's bad enough he wasted all that time and was denied because of an unpaid bill.

Try getting a strait answer from an employee of the "city of brotherly love", whether it's about real estate taxes, deed information or code requirements just to name a few. Does anyone really expect help related to a LTFC?

I think the employees have to take lessons to aggravate people.

Lessons not needed if you grow up down there, it's a life long lesson.

Yet another abuse of the character clause. It burns my ass when 2a folks think its ok for one man to make a character determination, and deny citizens, who are not otherwise legally prohibited, their right to carry a firearm. What a joke it is, that we call PA a shall issue state and allow the character clause to continue. It should be repealed immediately.
