Springfield XDm in 10mm
I know we all still hate Springfield, but they just introduced the XDm in 10mm.

I like the XD's. Good ergonomics, reliable and accurate. I have several.
I think I'd probably prefer a steel frame for a 10mm, if I was in the market for one.

I have an XDm 5.25 in 9mm and an XDm 4.5 in 45. They're both great guns. But I agree, I would rather have an all steel gun in 10mm to help absorb some of the recoil. I'll probably end up getting one, eventually (probably used, lol). Too many other things to buy first.

Re: Springfield XDm in 10mm
I was not aware of the issue with SA and RRA, but it does sound like there are still facts to come out. Not defending them supporting anti -gun causes by any stretch, but I have to wonder what the upside for a mfg'er is by supporting entities who would detract from their bottom line. Something is rotten in Denmark on the face of this.
Also, I dont see a steel frame gun as absorbing any more recoil energy other than by excess weight. Polymer overall would allow more flex and mitigate felt recoil at a lighter weight. More weight means I carry it less. The older I get, the less weight I want hanging on my side. Ill take my 10 in plastic please.

Re: Springfield XDm in 10mm
Polymer frames do a lousy job of cushioning recoil. I have two M&P pistols, one in 9mm and one in 40S&W/357 Sig. They weigh about the same. The 9mm version is a lot more comfortable and pleasant to shoot than the 40. Same for my XDm 9 vs my XDm 45, though not as significant. I don't know how enjoyable a 10mm XDm would be to shoot. For my intended purpose as a woods walk gun, I'm not a concerned about recoil, but for practice on the range or the occasional match, I may think differently.
