Did anyone apply for the CMP 1911 drawing? I sent my paperwork in but haven’t heard anything yet.

I did too. I've been reading the CMP forums for updates, seems like it might take a month or more until they notify you of your number. I heard it suggested over there that they've only received around 17,000 applications. I think that's well below what some expected.

Totally forget to send in everything.

Not surprised they ended up with 17000 apps considering the hoops you had to jump through.

    Cool Re: CMP 1911’s

Looks like another month of waiting.... latest update:

    1911 Update – November 6th

Our Random Number Generator (RNG) has selected random numbers for all the packets received. We are working on assigning those random numbers to the 19,000 packets we have received. This will take some time – PLEASE BE PATIENT! It may take 30-60 days to inform you of your random number. Please DO NOT CONTACT US ASKING WHAT YOUR NUMBER IS.

As we process orders, we will call customers as we work through the list.

**If your information has changed (you have moved or your FFL has gone out of business), please DO NOT CONTACT US. You may update us when your number is selected and we contact you.

WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ORDER PACKETS.

Everyone will be notified if their order packet was not accepted so please be patient and bear with us.

Currently, we do not have a date when we will begin auction sales. Once that is determined, we will update our customers

Please check our website for updates - http://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/1911-information/

Thank you for your patience and support.

An example was just posted on the CMP forum that's a mid-WWII Colt slide on a late WWII RR frame, rebuilt at Benicia and then again by the Marines, with markings to prove both. To the folks who think that's equivalent to a new production Rock Island, I can't help them. But to those who understand and value the history, condition and mechanical function are simply bonuses.

I'm guessing we're out of luck - I would think they have gotten through them all by now? Only hope is they said if you did not get one, your application and number were kept in order and would be applied to next round of imports - we will see
