Default Bow Hunting Week 2, What did you see? How Did it go?

Monday and I am ready to get in the woods even with these higher temps and an East wind. Have a great week of hunting. Always wear a safety harness.

I saw flies, mosquitoes, ticks, chipmunks and squirrels. Sweated my ass off on Saturday.

MOnday Morning- Sweaty and Damp- lots of Skeeters- saw one small buck making a scrape at about 100 Yards.

Monday Evening- Hunted with a Thermo Cell. Saw probably 20 doe feeding in a Chestnut Grove. Got picked off while reaching for my bow on a Long Nose Doe with a Button Buck and a Fawn. She was on high alert and when I went to draw she blew and then deer behind her which I never saw started popping up and running off. I should have known better than to try to take a momma doe on HIGH ALERT. I needed to let her pass. Had I let her pass the chance of getting a chip shot at one of the doe that would certainly have followed would have given me a better chance.

I need a more liberal work schedule to report anything! Work all day and by the time I get out it is almost dusk. That's what vacation is for I guess.

I don't even want to know about hunting in this weather. I pretty much stopped hunting the first two weeks years ago when we stopped getting "normal" fall temperatures.
Everything is a week early this year to boot.

Temps are looking better next week. Hopefully I will get out with the inline and put some quick venison in the freezer.

If I am out with my bow, and since it is woodchuck time for most of the year, then well....? My guess is only IF you have some sort of rifle you need orange or what gives? Technically that's what it says.
Like STbear said: no orange required for flintlock season.....although if you are hunting in a SRA with an extended doe season, it is recommended.

I go out in flintlock season wearing 18th century garb....and yes part of that outfit is buckskin.

I get that part, I was asking if you are hunting deer, with a bow, and it is also a small game season, do you wear orange? They way the reg is written, you always have to wear orange during small game season which again is practically year round depending on creature.

Also, technically in 5C you can bow hunt until end of January, no orange, I get that.

But also in 5C is Bucks and Chester which you can also extended rifle antlerless. Again, I get that if you are not hunting with a rifle then no orange is required?

They write these regs up to get money I swear!!

I don’t have the regs in front of me but as I recall; during the portion of archery season that overlaps with any other season where orange is required, the archer has to wear orange while moving and have an orange band around a tree within X feet of him/herself when stationary
