Bad news for Washington gun owners. The draconian ballot measure known as Initiative 1639 passed into law this week, garnering 60 percent of the votes.

I-1639 bans the sale of semiautomatic rifles to adults under the age of 21, creates a registry of gun owners, establishes a 10-day waiting period for certain purchases, holds gun owners liable for failing to secure firearms, and allows the state to charge a $25 fee on the sale of “assault rifles.”

I-1639 defines “assault rifle” as “Any rifle which utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and chamber the next round, and which requires a separate pull of the trigger to fire each cartridge.” Included in this category is any semiautomatic long gun chambered in .22LR.

BTW - Manchin won WV because of a Libertarian.

    Candidate Party Votes Votes %
    ✓ Joe Manchin* Dem 288,808 49.5%
    Patrick Morrisey GOP 269,872 46.3%
    Rusty Hollen Lib 24,231 4.2%

There were a few others around the country where the 3rd party vote was a factor in who won.

    Yep, probably so.

I think I saw some district where the Rep won because the Green Party candidate took votes from a Democrat.

    For the most part:
Libertarian votes are votes for Democrats
Green Party votes are votes for Republicans

Manchin also knew what he was doing by supporting Kavanaugh. His party colleagues already hates him, so why not steal a few Republican votes to keep his job.

He'll go back to voting with Dems now.

Coal crackers vote democrat no matter what state they're in, with the exception of President Trump.

Well, as long as the idiots who voted for Rusty "feel special" and "didn't compromise" and "voted their conscience", then I guess they won't mind when Mancin votes for more reasonable common-sense gun control and all your guns get registered as a prelude to all your guns being seized. Not this year, but then the Nazis didn't immediately round up all the Jews right away, either.

Y'all can tell your grandkids that "Grandpa didn't want to dirty his hands by voting in a way that actually helped the cause of freedom", and maybe they'll pull the plug on you last. Probably not, though, not when Single Payer rationing is in effect.
