    No loss. It takes a fair amount of work on the carrier to get the 336 in 44 Magnum to feed reliably. I've done it to several 336/44s, and it is a slow lather-rinse-repeat process.

    If you want a 44 Mag levergun, get a Marlin 1894, preferably in stainless. Nice shooters. Some 1894 tend to exhibit the "Marlin Jam," but that's much more easily fixed than a 336/44 carrier.
