Re: utah ccw in delaware
I have family there (daughter, son-in-law, and grandson) and we go there pretty often. When we do we almost always go out, either to a restaurant or
some nearby attraction, or both.
Also, like here in PA, I always open carry, so I'm not real sure I'd be asked for a license/permit.
Anyway, been doing this for about 10 years now, completely uneventful.
No LEO encounters or public encounters either.
My OC is a full size 1911 in a leather holster at 3:00, if you were wondering.
Oh, and they live near Newark, DE. We often find some new place to eat popular with the young
and college crowd, if you get my drift.
I'm not exactly "hiding" my OC at the local gun clubs. While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

If you don't live in Delaware, to my understanding, the only way to CC is with an out of state permit.
You don't really have any other options. Just make sure it's with a state that DE honors.

Re: utah ccw in delaware
You would be correct, and why I am waiting on my non-resident Utah License now.
I just moved back to PA, from DE, after many years and held a DE "Special License" for over 25 years (along with my PA non-Resident LTCF).
To Curmudgeon, in case you are unaware, I would be very careful open carrying in Dover (if you ever go there), as they require the DE
Special License" to be able to "open carry" and I am not sure how they would view/handle a "non-resident" using a Utah or Fla "license".

Re: utah ccw in delaware
Not true.
The confusing law in Dover was changed several years ago and Dover is now treated the same as the rest of the State. Throughout the State, Open Carry of firearms is not regulated by law and does not require a license/permit for persons that are not otherwise prohibited.IANAL. I don't give legal advice. I'm only stating my OPINION.
(Did I really need to say that on an Internet forum? LOL)

Re: utah ccw in delaware
Thanks for the correction, as I do not, nor have I ever, nor will I ever "open carry" in public, so I was unaware that they had finally changed that.
I have always offered that information, to those I know that do "open carry", as I'd hate to see someone get jammed up over it.
Again, thank you for the correction, as its always a good day when you learn something new, or in this case, as a correction!
