Default CZ Shadow 2 Grips -painful

Love the gun so far and love the color and look of the grips but- hate hate shooting with these lovely blue sharp digging grips. I have never imagined feeling like I’m grating my hands on a cheese grater - but that is how it feels shooting with these grips. I don’t have calloused man hands but shouldn’t need them ? Or do I?

Any suggestions ? See thru clear protective grip tape ? Or new grips ? I tried my never used gloves but I don’t like the feel. I prefer the close on feeling right on the grip with my bare hands.

Do you other Shadow 2 owners not feel the sharpness beating up your hands when shooting ? I surely don’t need them so agreessive and painful.

I shot 150 rounds - no issues. Ran great. Although brass burn is marked mostly on one side of casing.

Are you sure it’s the grips and not the stippling on the front and back strap? A little bit of grip tape should do the trick. Or just keep shooting and build up some callouses.

The rear stipling is probably the worst offender.

Even with the front and rear stippling and the make up of the grips, you could take some sand paper and smooth the roughness off a bit and it will still give you a good gripping surface.

I was considering that but the cz Guy said there is a coating which will be sanded off and should be recoated - this thing cost enough. I am not sending it somewhere for a coating for it. He suggested gloves which I dislike.

Talon sells grip tape on their web site specific to the sp-01. Or you can get a sheet and cut it yourself. There are a lot of guys using this on their Shadows for the same reason. Eventually it will need to be replaced but it’s a cheap and effective solution.

I did to green, my eyes pick up green better than red for some reason.

And then there is the gray version as well. Definitely a great gun. Em. Hide your wallet though.
