    Default 10mm pistol recommendations

Think Im ready to dive into the world of 10mm but cant decide on a pistol. Im not really cosidering Glocks or other polymer frame pistols. The 1911 platform is a possibility. What I really want is a DA/SA setup like the old S&W model 1006. Price range is $700-$1000.
Talk me into or out of your 10mm of choice.

I have been eyeing up the new Ruger GP100 in 10mm. I'm still on the fence about taking on another caliber.

Sig Sauer P220 in 10mm. You may find a good deal on a used one. You can get it in SA or DA/SA and it is kind of 1911ish...
I really like my p220 .45 acp dark elite.

    I have 10mm in Glock 20,29, Kimber 1911, Smith 1006, and Smith 610.

1911 10mm is fun but the 9x25 Dillon conversion for the G20 make its the best. Plus the added capacity.

I hear EAA makes a decent 10mm gun.

I dont shoot the 1006 or 610 much anymore because of collectability and lack of replacement parts.

Kimber and Glock both get the shit kicked out of them at local IDPA and USPSC matches.

G29 is my summer carry piece.

I have a G20 & 29 and I am happy. You might want to spend some time at Underwood Ammo, they make some Hot 10mm and there are plenty of reviews.

Whats the purpose of the pistol? CC/OC? home defense? or just a fun range gun? That will help answer your question. Im a big fan of 10mm. My personal favorite is my DW razorback mainly due to its shootability. As mentioned above my older SW 10's stay in the safe for the most part.

I'd grab a 1006 off of Gunbroker. It should be in your price range being the most common. I've got a 1026, a couple of Glocks. I had a Delta Elite. I've been eyeing up a Dan Wesson Bruin but that's out of your price range. I don't have any experience with some of the lower cost 1911s but I know a few get good marks.

If I were to get a 10mm and I had the money, I'd go with a Colt Delta Elite. I like the looks and the ergonomics are right for me at least.

All my 10mm handguns are Glocks, but if I couldn't have Glocks, I would pick the Sig 220.

I keep wishing Sig would make a 10mm 227. All they need is a steel frame for the 227, the rest is all components already in production.

The Sig p220 is the only viable 10mm pistol in current production. I agree with Smith and Wesson 1006 being a very good choice too but it is out of production.
