I'm about two miles from the Holmesburg club. They have an agreement with the Police academy to let the cadets use the range. When they are down there at night I can hear them popping away. You know it's the cadets, from the frequency of fire.

You are probably hearing the PPD Range during MPO recert. I was just there.

Ironically I was told they can only shoot until a certain time on 4x12, because the inmates at the prisons complained it interrupted their sleep.

When I went to the member intro class last month the club folks indicated that any house bought has on the deed and mortgage that you are purchasing a house next to a active gun range. And since the range predates all houses in the area, its not going anywhere.

You are correct, I actually used to live in the neighborhood referenced in the article. My ex had us convinced that we needed to build and move in to a McMansion. We built one in that neighborhood and the neighboring gun club was a well known documented fact on all paperwork. I never thought the gunfire was even that loud. There's lots of vegetation and hills to break up the sound. Everyone in that hood knew what they were getting into when they purchased.
I since divorced and moved away.

Could be. Not every day, at least one a month. I never kept track.

Yeah, this is happening everywhere. I'll be moving soon to within a half hour's drive of this range, and was really hoping to join.

A friend of my parents moved near the club - they had to sign a disclaimer indicating knowledge that a gun club was nearby. I would guess mortgage or title companies would require it now - PA Gun lawyer might know more, as to why.

Since this was brought up, I was at this range a couple of weeks ago. Very nice range. I hope it is there for years to come.

Yep, I'm a constable. It is a little hard to identify in addition to being a small picture, because we can buy whatever style we want.
