I had one drop over in my front yard a couple of years ago. I drug it into the shadow of my garage and covered it with a tarp figuring I might have gotten a gift from God but the hunter showed up at my front door an hour or so later. I told him I
had it covered in the shade for him to keep the buzzards and crows off of it. He brought me some venison slim jims a couple of months later.

PGC regulates hunting and has preemption over local laws. You can hunt in your own safety zone but need to have permission to be within a neighbors. While the game law says you have to make every effort to recover game you shot, it does not give you permission to trespass. Ask for permission. If denied ask the Game Warden if he can help you. He can not force the person to allow you to retrieve the deer but can make a pretty persuasive case why they should allow it.

I was pretty sure you still needed owner permission but good to know a PGC officer might be able to help.

Man, what a great morning to be in the woods. A bit warm at 67 but no bugs and a very slight breeze on and off.

I passed on this guy at 8 AM

It's the smaller bodied 8 I didnt have a good pic of.

He ended up running directly under my tree.
I also had 4 bearded turkeys stop. One busted me taking his pic.
I'll pull the cards later to see what's on them.

    Here's that same buck.

The bigger 7 was there earlier in darkness. I would take him given the chance if the bigger 8 didn't show later in the season.

I'm sitting here watching 4 bucks hanging out together in my back yard. Maybe I need to get a bow.

Man, you are living the dream...I should have bought a house with some land, so I can hunt in my yard. I am envious that you are able to do this type of hunt.

Looks like you will have plenty of opportunities, so you can be selective on the buck that you get. Good luck.

I'm in 5C, but I'm not a fan of humidity, so I'm waiting until it cools down.

I've hunted behind my place for quite a few years and have done OK but the farm that used to be across the valley has become and upper end housing plan.
The deer that I used to watch from my side with binoculars now have come over to the 27 side.

Last year I had at least 10 bucks on trail cams.
This year I think I have at least 7. 4 are legal. 2 of those are young or small
I would take this one near the end of the season if I don't get 2 doe.
Its possible that once I passed on this buck that il not get one but theres next year, they will gain a few pounds and points.

Nice pics 27. I'll get out in 2G in early October. Don't have a great funnel like you but planted clover in a little food plot in an opening in the woods to entice them in.

    Good luck all!
