OAKS Big 3 day show OCT 5, 6, 7, 2018

I know that Friday is Oct. 6 but reminding me didn't hurt. I know of a friend of mine that got mixed up on a gun show date and went to York on the wrong weekend.

He was a little bit upset to say the least.

Salmon River in Pulaski. I don't care if I catch any fish, they're a PITA to catch and I only like it if it's fresh, it gets a bad taste when it goes through the freezer. The camping trip is a good time.

A friend of mine lives up there in ny somewhere, he salmon fishes also, just saw a bunch of pictures the other day.
I'll have to ask what part he live in. Hes been there for two years (work) he has a house around the corner from me.

Just talked to him, hes going. Its a three hour ride (one way) for him.
He said hundreds of people were there last weekend. Look out for him,
he'll be "THAT" guy if you know what I mean, bald headed bill.

There are heaps of people up there but somehow everyone finds themselves a spot. I guess it can be done in three hours but for me those days are passed, it's about five anymore.

I have a confession. I've never been to one of these before. Can someone advise me on which day(s) are usually best to go, and if there is anything in particular that I should look for or avoid? As a non-FFL, can I bring my own guns to trade/sell with the vendors? I also assume that most of these vendors are cash only.

I can't tell you what day is best, but can tell you that you are allowed to bring in your guns to trade in / sell to a vendor. There are police at the front door who check and zip tie them as you are entering. Also, most vendors take cash or cards, but I would say bringing cash is ideal.

Best day depends on what your looking for. If it's something popular or specific, Friday is going to give you the best variety. If you're looking for a great deal on something, but you don't know what, try Sunday. Vendors are more willing to "deal" the last day.

Bringing guns to sell or trade should be fine. Let them know so, they can zip tie the actions on the way in. You'll probably make out better selling to a private individual than trading them to an FFL.

Most guys take cards anymore, but you'll get better "deals" and more negotiating power with cash. I always bring cash to gun shows and always ask for out the door prices based on a cash sale.
