Canada Stops Populating NCIC

I'm sure CNN will be along any minute with the story and a twist that blames it all on Trump...

Canada has ceased entry into NCIC for all Wanted Persons, Stolen Vehicles, Articles, and Guns. It is imperative that your users are aware that an NCIC check will no longer return this information. For the cops out there... It will be necessary for your users to run the following NLETS transactions: WQ for persons, VQ for vehicles, CAQ for articles, CGQ for gun files, CSQ for securities file, CBQ for boat files.

For the rest of us this means the snow birds from Ontario traveling 95 South each October may be of just as much threat as the "undocumented", aka illegal, from Central/South America where their origin countries make no attempt to warn us.

There is probably an online NCIC Manual.

But the Canadian version looks like:

WQ- Wanted Query
VQ- Vehicle Query
CAQ- Canadian Article Query
CGQ- Canadian Gun Query
CSQ- Canadian Security Query
CBQ= Canadian Boat Query
