One more thing... the Bond Arms guns are very well made. That doesn't change everything else discussed in this thread, but does give reason to buy one if you're looking for that novelty.

I had a Chrome Davis in .38 Special back in the 70's. I think I paid $69 for it new. I shot it twice without hearing protection. My ear's were ringing for about 6 hours after that. I consider that experience the start of my bad hearing due to gun fire and loud music!

I have two of the Cobra versions (they're identical to the Davis). One in 380 and one in 38 special. The 380 I used to keep in the front pocket of my bibs while I was doing farm work.

To be honest, I only bought them because I thought they were kinda cool and they were cheap enough that it seemed like fun for the money.

I've shot a 38 derringer, it felt like someone hit me in the palm with a ball peen hammer. Not fun to shoot and very loud.

Pretty high up there on the fun side, with certain ammo it isn't uncomfortable to shoot, and accuracy is good.

This is not a joke, always wear ear and eye protection.even while hunting before taking your shot,i too have tinnitis in both ears since my early thirties from shooting without ear protection !
