Default Why Would You Buy a Derringer?

What is the appeal of derringers? How many actually carry them? I know no one that owns one, never see one being bought, yet the market continues to offer them.

They're as big as a compact revolver or semi , offered in same calibers, heavy, have a heavy trigger pull, and limited capacity. Most importantly they aren't any less expensive than other options and none of the big names make them. I own just about every configuration of handgun in all the common calibers, plus a few not so common, with the exception of derringers. There is just zero appeal to me. What am I missing?

I have a cheap ($99) small chrome plated Davis Derringer in .22 mag which I bought 30 some years ago before there really were other options for pocket carry... That's also before I knew better. It plain sucks. I see no point in the Bond arms for the exact reasons you mentioned, but some people may want them just for a conversation piece or "good looks" meh.

Same reason as a NAA .22. They are neat, but that price point is way too high.

I have a bond arms. It came with five or six barrels. A display case and a holster.
Got it for a good price. Like a lot of stuff I have it sits in the safe un fired.

If you put a suppressor on one, it would become awesome.

You do know what they used to call guns that trigger configuration, right?
