Re: What is YOUR favorite pistol? Why?
I can't pick just one - I have a favorite for general carry, favorite for warm weather carry, favorite for teaching new shooters, favorite for if I had to "deal with some serious stuff", etc... but can't pick only one.

Re: What is YOUR favorite pistol? Why?
My very first genuine target pistol. A High Standard Military Tournament Model 107. I've owned since the early 1970s and it served very well through many years of Bullseye Competition, and fired literally hundreds of thousands of rounds in practice and matches. Constantly reliable, still very accurate with standard velocity ammo. I'd consider replacing it with nothing less than a Hammerli SP-20!

Glock 19....perfect size to carry and also shoot well, lightweight, reliable, it is 15 + 1 mag capacity, and you can put a light on it.

Sig Pro 2022 9mm with Night Sights.
That was the first pistol that was given to me as a gift. I have no complaints about it. The trigger is smooth, night sights are still glowing after several years, magazine capacity is decent, and the recoil is on the lower end due to the metal slide.

Re: What is YOUR favorite pistol? Why?
I have two all-time favorites, both revolvers. Favorite 1: My S&W Model 19 - first center fire handgun I owned. Still take it to the range. If I need to pass a pistol test like I did back when Florida carry permits were done, I used this. The one time I actually felt that I had to check the front door while armed (34 years ago) this one was folded into a newspaper and ready if needed. It still rests in my bedside night table drawer. The other is my S&W 25-2. A moon-clip .45 ACP 6" barrel revolver. Tack driver, much faster to dump and reload with moon clips than others using speed loaders, and just plain fun. I do have a Model of 1917, but that stays with my collection.

Re: What is YOUR favorite pistol? Why?
My current favorite is my walther p99 compact AS.
Great capacity 12+1, and conceals really well. Accurate, and controllable under rapid fire conditions.
I still need to get night sights, but no complaints.

Hard to pick a favorite, but the gun that I currently most enjoy shooting is my S&W 627-4 Performance Center chambered in .38 Super...
I use it for USPSA and ICORE competition.

Re: What is YOUR favorite pistol? Why?
It changes. I've put a lot of miles on S&W model 15's. The handgun I both learned to shoot with and carried on duty for several years. My favorite carry gun at the moment is a CZ 75 Compact. All around it is probably my Colt Special Combat Government Model .45 ACP. I've never really been a big 1911 fan. I bought this one with the intention of it being the only one to round out the collection. It has won me over, reliable, very accurate and just a joy to own.
