It was my understanding that the references weren't the issue with Monroe County it was the fact they used to require two in county only references that was the issue. Trying to make it hard for any newcomers to the area to get their LTCF.

Hi, I have just retired am looking to move from NY to a free state of Pa, Monroe county to be exact. My dream is to get enough land to shoot again on my own land. I grew up on 165 acers upstate. I also wanted to get a C&R. If anyone believes these things are becoming a problem in Monroe could you please share your thoughts.
    Thanks, Scott

Finding enough land to shoot on in Monroe might be difficult. You might be able to find out more about other counties if you post this in the lounge or general categories.

    Hello

I live in Monroe county on 4 acres with another 25 vacant around me and I can shoot on my own property. It all depends on the township within the county so what I did was narrow down the houses and areas I liked then called each township zoning dpt and asked them what the discharge rules were. I mostly shoot pistols and pcc's since rifles are very loud and I like my neighbors a lot.

    Good Luck!

There's land but your going to pay a lot more and tax's will be significantly higher then Carbon county which is right next door. If I were retired when I moved to NEPA that's most likely where I would have ended up or further up towards the Dingmans Ferry area.

Thanks, i will keep that in mind. I have been looking at the discharge laws and like all gun laws they are confusing. I will have to check county by county or pay some guy too much money for legal advise, I don't mind ranges but it would be nice to walk to it.
