My favorite pistol

I know this is strange but my favorite pistol is a P38 P1. That thing has been the least troublesome semi auto I've ever owned. Never hic ups or burps, just goes bang. Will the serial number tell me when and where it was made? Joe

The P.38/P-1 is one of my favorites as well. It was the first centerfire self loading pistol I ever shot. I now have several (won't say exactly how many). The S&W M-39 series copied many of the ergonomic features and I used to have one of those as well, but a friend persuaded me to sell mine because his dad had one and he wanted one for himself.

I can't answer this question. I like so many. That said I like the K frame S&W, and tradtional single actions as much as I like the Walther system. The 1911 also gets mention. Its a bit like asking which is your favorite kid.

Personally, my Inglis version of the Browning HP. closely followed by an uncut Webley Mk VI. Dave_n (PS think I might be an ex-Limey?)

I have a P38 (Walther ac44) and I agree with you, they are fun to shoot. My favorite pistol was my Browning Hipower Practical. I kick myself for trading it....

LOL, that makes two of us. I have trouble picking a favorite out of my selection. It used to be my P7M8 until I shot my P210-6, which had been stashed in the safe for about 20 years but then I went and bought a Zenith Z-5RS and it's pretty much orgasmic.So...I guess the Zenith wins that spot for me for now.
