I have never used a mutual fund to defend myself. You are correct, at some point investing is something else besides guns and ammo would be more practical. My gun list will most likely never be filled. A GE mini gun just isn't in the budget

About 4 years ago I wanted an MG, so I purchased a transferrable MAC-11 with matching suppressor.... fast forward to 2018 and we now have 57 MG's in our inventory and I told myself a few months ago after I purchased a M2HB MG that our collection was big enough, no reason to buy anymore this year, we are good.... then I saw this beatiful Ruger AC556 MG last week and well, it's coming home.

That's it... no more MG's this year.

if it isn't on my list and in the condition I want , i pass. I quit being a junk collector.
Unless the price is considerably lower than market value.

I mean ... who could pass up a late war 38H with cracked grips for $265 ???

Very few things excite me in the "new" gun arena, full auto/nfa stuff is kinda meh now too.
In the past 18 years or so I've tallied it up to the neighborhood of a quarter million on guns/ammo/accessories.

You get to the point where going to a gun store is about as fun as going to the dollar store to buy toilet paper.

1-3 guns a year is a lot? Seems desperately low to me.

I was expecting someone to say something like this, and no, it isn't 'a lot' by gun guy standards, but it's probably comfortably above average for your typical American. Even if it isn't, for me, its probably enough. Well... almost enough.

I used to buy a gun every other month. Thankfully, I've slowed down to around 2-3 a year. I'm running out of space, and need to shoot the guns I already have more. Plus, I have upcoming financial responsibilities, and it'd be stupid to piss away more money on something I'm going to shoot maybe 4 times a year.

I'm a sucker for those deals that sneak up on me though.

Pa is like around 15 guns per 1000 people counted in the last census. We be the new black.

But that’s how you make your money, right? I don’t think that business assets count. Taxis aren’t a car collection.
