    There are two local school districts around here that have their own police departments, complete with ori numbers. All the officers are school district employees. Pretty sure all are retired PSP.

    I was always under the impression that to be employed as a police officer, you had to have Act 120 or the PSP Academy, at least to arrest anybody. I thought Act 235 was pretty much for the carrying of weapons while employed.

    The school police officers are defined by statute in Pa.
    They get sworn before a judge.
    The statute is in title 24, there is criteria to be met to hold the position.
    I didn't know any of this before a few months ago.
