It gets even more complicated when the state line runs right down the center of the road, and it's not all that uncommon.

Down near Merrill, Oregon there's State Line Road. One side is Oregon, the other side is California. Individual on the Oregon side fired a gun at a neighbor on the California side, killing him. When and where was the murder committed? Before charging and prosecuting the individual, two state courts had to figure it all out.

If the ride is smooth you are in the Diamond State, if it is rough and bouncy you are in the Keystone State and there is usually a noticeable bump at the transition.

Utah requires a Utah specific course for their ltc. I had thought Arizona did as well, but the post below seems to say they will take any training course. Florida will take most any training course. Florida and Utah require finger prints, I'm not positive on Arizona. All three can be done online/mail once you have the requirements. I might have to look into Arizona further myself instead of renewing Florida next time. I believe it's a little cheaper than Florida and Florida already recognizes my PA.

Renewing is cheap and no further printing or requirements needed.

Be careful when you get to the line. You never know who is waiting for you.

AZ IIRC is $60 for 5 years. Renewal around $40, IIRC, no photo required.
Prints are required. But only once. Not sure, but I was under the impression FL renewals required fingerprinting.

    Cheaper in the long run.

They do for some unknown reason. The local PD will do them here, but it's another hassle. For the money, I think I'm going to get Arizona in the future. I'll then decide if I want to renew Florida.

On the training subforum here on this board, there's occasionally people posting for the Utah & Arizona training class. Between the two, AZ needs "live fire" (or at least did when I got mine) but I took the class with the "optional" live fire, and they had LEOs present for fingerprinting and even took the pictures and printed them, so you basically walked out with a mailer envelope for both states. Renewals are supposed to be easy.

I never did Florida myself, but with UT and AZ (and since then I've added ME and CT), I'm working my way through all the possible states.

One thing to be aware of; reciprocal permits do not let you get within a gun-free school zone from a Federal standpoint. The federal verbiage specifically calls for a permit issued by the state in which the school zone exists.
