I actually love this because it shows the ridiculousness of "safe spaces" for speech. If there is any place in the world that should not be a 'safe space' for knowledge and speech-- it should be in school. It is the place where you should be able to experiment with ideas, and test beliefs and feel uncomfortable and risk offense and being offended.

Thanks for the picture. I just bought one of those for my wife, for her birthday this weekend. Until I saw this post I had no idea what to get her.

The point that has only been raised by one poster is correct. This TA is not a "teacher" in the accepted sense of the word in a university, but is very frequently a 1st or sometimes 2nd year grad student who as part to their stipend. have to "teach (at times read babysit)" an undergraduate class (supposedly in their nominal discipline). Most grad students want to get this obligation over with as soon as is feasible so that they can attend their preliminary qualification classes and then move on to their research project. That is the case in science and engineering, maths etc., but in the "liberal arts" who knows!! Dave_n
