Default Aug 2018 Trail camera pics

    Hello hunters,

Well, Its getting closer to this years fall hunting season.

This morning after walking 4 miles on the Panhandle trail, I was driving home and saw the largest racked buck I've ever seen in the woods.
It was evidently either a rich buck or the affluent neighborhood of Nevillewood feeds their animals well.
    And its all posted.

A friend sent me this picture from his son's back yard which is about 1/2 mile from me but has a corridor of woods between his place and mine.

Shortly after seeing this, I set one of my cameras out and got some doe but nothing racked and legal.

One camera had weak batteries but I thought would be ok till I replaced them. After a week, there was zero on the cam.
Another picture only cam had a few shots,

    A bit distant but racked.

Some of these are likely the same deer from different angles but the fact that they are in my back yard is a bonus.

Gotta shitcan the salt block. I think 30 days before the season starts.

Who else is seeing some decent or even just legal bucks?

Some nice bucks there sir! I have at least four shooters showing up pretty regular on one property that I have access to. As it typically goes, the next time I see them will be during flintlock season when they have already dropped half of their rack. LOL I am seeing typical NY mountain buck in NY. If I can remember how to post up some pics I will add some.

Although not trail cam, I was sitting on my deck yesterday and this doe with 2 fawns showed up at the salt lick

The 2 fawn left and I'm wondering if this is her offspring.

Right after these pics, I shitcanned the salt block. Almost forgot removal before the 30 days prior to hunting season.

Got this guy and a bunch of does, sadly the does don't seem to come out much during the day. Which means opening day I am sure to only see the buck.

Here are a few of my pics

There is a true giant in the area as well. I have only ever captured his left side quartering away in a very dark picture. I am not big on predicting what a deer will "score", but for size reference this guy is a 150 class buck all day long. He makes the largest buck pictured above look narrow.

No, but some of those guys will seemingly vanish....mostly because of the neighboring agricultural fields of soybeans and corn. They are currently drawn to my camera location because of freshly fallen apples. Once the ag is gone, they will hit my food plots late season. I was hunting a monster a few years ago. I live in a three up antler area. This guy had a monster right left w side with four points and a brow tine. His right side was a split brow and one huge main beam that was just as wide as the other. I saw him on camera a few times in the summer and once during archery chasing doe. The next time I saw him was the day after Christmas. He stepped out at 200 PM about 60 yards away and began digging up sugar beets. I went to full cock then noticed he had dropped his other side......My buddy was filming. I'll see if I can find the stills from that hunt. His body was MASSIVE! So, no. I will be out in archery and with pistol. I would be lying if I didn't say I was pumped for the rut this year. I have been shooting my bow quite a bit.

    Here he is...

This guy showed up Thursday night, hopefully he'll show himself during hunting hours.

Shooting is, as it has always been, the fabric of America!
