Shopify bans merchants from selling certain firearms
NEW YORK (AP) -- Shopify, a platform used by more than 600,000 businesses to sell their goods, says it will no longer allow them to sell some firearms and parts.
The company said the policy change affects "a small number of merchants" but would not give a specific number.
Franklin Armory, a firearm maker and seller, says it was notified by Shopify late Monday. The company says it is looking for a Shopify replacement.
Shopify's list of banned items includes automatic firearms, silencers used on semi-automatic firearms and other items. The Canadian company says it reviews and changes its rules "from time to time."
Earlier this year, big retailers including Walmart and Dicks Sporting Goods changed their gun policies after a high school shooting in Florida in which 17 people were killed.

Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

It is discouraging to see these services turn anti second amendment. However I just use a regular search engine to find what I'm looking for. ALthough I suppose the major search engines could limit gun related searches.

Shopify isn't a search engine, it's a service that lets you easily set up a shopping cart and checkout system to sell your goods and services. Chances are everyone here has used a website that runs on this platform and doesn't even know they did.

Never heard of “Shopify”. Why would I go there instead of Amazon?

It's more like small shops not being able to provide online shopping.
What if Palmetto State Armory used a shopify provided shopping cart system? They would be put in a bad place until they found another option
