Thanks for the links - I didn't see it on first pass. You gave me everything I needed. Thanks! Is the airport location open on weekends, the wording makes it a little ambiguous.

That's a good link gghbi got there. I do not believe that they are there on weekends even though it is not spelled out and that page has the application form on it that you can download too.

Realistically I'll probably end up in Newtown Square, which I think is in Delaware County - an experience with the sheriff there?

My renewal a couple months ago took 12 days, which is down from the 46 days it took 5 years ago.

Wow, so not as fast as some counties. It's funny that Berks is immediate, but Delaware takes 2 weeks.

    Any experience with Montgomery?

If I end up in Newtown Square, where are the best places to shoot? I have a family membership in a great club right now with outdoor pistol and rifle ranges. I'm hoping to find something comparable not too far away.

Sorry no experience with the sheriff in that county. The Berks county sheriff's office takes about 15 minutes. Most of the time it takes longer to park and wait for the elevator.

Sorry, I have no real input here. All of my shooting currently is competition, and I do not belong to any ranges. Google Delaware County Field and Stream for a Fudd-like environment (no rapid fire, among other things), or Lower Providence Rod and Gun Club, which hosts various Action Pistol and other competitions.

    Thanks.

DCF&S was the only one I found. What makes them fudd-like? Just curious.

Magazine load limits, 3 seconds between shots, etc.
They have M1 competitions but only allow 5 rounds in the clip (I think there is a modified clip made for this purpose).
