Thumbs up First post here, first handgun purchase (PPQ)

I was looking to order my first handgun online. I had my sights on a Walther PPQ M2 9mm thinking that the M1/Classic would be harder to find. I found it on gunbuyer for $430 plus shipping/tax, so all I needed was an FFL to complete the transfer.

I figured I'd do my research before ordering the gun, and being a Delaware County resident, figured I'd look for someone local. I found Joe with the Thin Blue Line in Broomall, a short 5 minute ride from where I live. I searched this forum for feedback about his business and found only glowing reviews so I sent him a message over the weekend. He called me back within a couple hours and said he had a PPQ in stock and could sell it to me out the door for $425 including transfer/PICS.

I went over there Monday afternoon to complete the purchase. Joe is a great guy with some great stories and a killer sense of humor, yet remained professional throughout the entire transaction. When presented the gun I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a NIB PPQ Classic 5" with fiber ops and a ported slide, which made this an even better deal. A couple pages of paperwork and 15 minutes later I was the proud owner! I was planning on waiting until this weekend to go shoot it with my brother in Harrisburg (along with his .357 Magnum and AK47) so I ordered a box of rounds of Brownell which will arrive later this week. However, I couldn't wait, so I bought a box of 50 rounds at Wally World today and took it over to Targetmaster tonight. What a great trigger, and very accurate pistol. It feels better than any of the Glocks (17, 19) I've ever shot. Light recoil and snappy trigger.

So I wanted to give a shout out to everyone here and thank you guys for your recommendations for Joe/Thin Blue Line in Broomall and say hey as the newest member here!

He is my go to FFL. I bought my Glock 20 from him for a good price out the door.

I already recommended him to a friend who is looking to make a firearm purchase soon. I saw the PPQ M2 4" at Targetmaster tonight for over $500, so I know I got a great deal.

Nice first post. Nice first gun. Should be a poofa award for this sort of thing. Now where’s the pictures?

Thanks for the welcome and information. I vote 2a every election and will definitely vote in this year's midterms. Can't let the Dems try to impeach POTUS.

I'll contact you privately about NRA/GOA memberships, but can anyone tell me the pros/cons of each organization? My gut instinct tells me that the NRA being persona non grata among the libs might make them more appealing to me.

While this is my first handgun, I do also have a Remington 870 Express. And I'm considering one of these build-your-own AR kits as well.
