Cabelas corporate risk/liability trumps your desire to dry fire a firearm in their store. They have much more to lose than your butthurt and lost business.

My wallet trumps their corporate risk/liability too. If they are so afraid to let potential buyers dry fire their firearms, then maybe they should stop selling them. I promise you, their prices are not that good for me to buy a firearm without me being allowed to dry fire the firearm. Next thing you know, they won't let you touch the firearm. You can look but your can't touch.

I also would want to check the firearm's safety. Can't really do that without trying to drop the hammer. I know I wouldn't want to buy a defective firearm. Particularly one where the safety doesn't work.

To each his own. I will spend my money somewhere else. But folks will have to make up their own mind.

Ha, of course! Window shopping there is fun, but I would never buy a firearm there... their prices are too high.

Now... I don’t hunt, but if I needed some deer piss spray on then ok.

I don't "buy" firearms there - my work credit card earns me points that I turn into Cabelas gift cards......................that turn into "free" guns.

I wasn't then...and I'm not now...."hurt" or offended" by the policy. I think it's bad for business, and I won't be buying there if the policy remains in place. I don't know of any local dealer near me with a policy like that.

Apparently, Cabelas Senior Staff and Board of Directors feel that the risk of someone using one of their (unlocked) firearms to shoot up their store would be worse for business (public relations) than your lost patronage. I’d be inclined to agree.
