Really? If the clerk is behind the counter it would take alot longer for them to reach that person than it would for someone to load a firearm. If they look away for 3 seconds someone could load up. Nevermind a busy shop where multiple people are being helped.

Since they were bought out by Bass Pro, I have been becoming disappointed with Cabela's. After I use my points and gift cards for another no cash out of pocket firearm, I'm going to switch to another credit card.
Sticks and stones will break my bones but hollow points expand on impact.

Where? Gun shows? There are signs all over not to dry fire and not even touch withouth permission. Guns are also moving under glass and netting.

Yes, but I've never known a gun show vendor to not allow you to inspect the firearm and unless it's a real collectable revolver, they will let you dry fire the firearm. All you have to do is ask.

It's been carefully explained to me, many times, often here on PAFOA, that a gun without a round chambered is as useless as a brick, and that it takes up to a week to go from "unchambered" to "chambered", after a laborious process that I believe involves a Mettler balance and a slide rule and perhaps some TIG welding.

This is why only a fool would carry without a round chambered, and preferably with the grip safety wired back.

Given these facts, it seems like the Ninjas who standardly comprise the sales staff at Cabellas could easily vault the counter and knock out any potentially suicidal customer before he shares what's on his mind with the rest of the people in the store.

Speaking of new Cabela's policies, I recently found out that they'll no longer do private party transfers. I can't imagine why they'd give up these easy money transactions.

This one happened at a Bass Pro Shop recently in KS. Since the merger of the two maybe Bass Pro is setting the rules.
Not a merger. Bass pro bought cabelas. It was going under.

Years ago I made my one and only purchase from Cabelas. The price was high but I wanted the item and local shops did not have it. After the purchase, the salesman said he had to escort me out of the building so I could place the purchase in my car and then come back in.
