Stoeger help

Ok, I'm an idiot, just wanted to clear that up before I started. I was trying to open up the loading port on my stoeger M3K and definitely ground too much off the side where the extractor is. Is anyone familiar or know of gun smiths that do aluminum welding and basically machining to try and fix my screw up? Any advice is appreciated.

Just a thought....rehabilitating the receiver would go beyond welding...to complete the job wouldn't it would have to be anodized, too. Sounds far more expensive and less practical than having the receiver replaced.

I emailed Stoeger about that. They said they will not sell just a receiver, because that is the "gun" part.

Stoeger Industries' headquarters are in Accokeek, Maryland, United States. Stoeger is a wholly owned subsidiary of Benelli, which in turn is owned by Italian firearms manufacturer Beretta.

Might try to reach deeper into the org. How does a gunsmith get such parts. Or can't they...

Pardon my skepticism. Some folks come here with a riddle and a giggle and disappear after a couple pages of disagreement on how to help the new guy.

My Winchester 1400 is over 40 yrs old. After many yrs in the field I used it for shooting trap till I upgraded to a BT99. I won't say it has 10's of thousands of rounds through it, but it does have thousands of rounds through it. The bolt, the carrier and the receiver are still like new.

So, humor me - how did you grind anything from anywhere by simply working the action.

If your claim is in fact accurate, I think you may have some warranty issues with Stoeger.

I believe he means he actually tried to widen the loading port by purposely grinding away metal, hence his screw-up of making the opening too large. It didn't happen by just using the gun or working the action.

This is done to facilitate quadloads for competition

no, it was intentional grinding with a Dremel tool to open the loading port up to help with quad loading. Not Stoegers fault at all. My stupid fault.
