Re: BYSTANDER STUPIDITY REGARDING O/C AT WALMART !
Any time I’m in line OCing and feel someone is in close, I ask them to back up because you can’t go anywhere until I’m done. Bills Shoprite in Daleville especially.

Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Re: BYSTANDER STUPIDITY REGARDING O/C AT WALMART !
I'm not doubting you.
I just don't believe that everyone here is always in a cat like state of alertness, ready to pounce and kick ass at a moment's notice. Having met many members over the years, I'd bet that is very much the exception and not the rule. I believe most posters are just normal folks like me and not spec ops alums, despite the posts to the contrary.
If I may speak for Scruff, I believe his point was that no one is always - ALWAYS - on high alert and 100% aware. People easily get used to stuff and complacent. That's why on your 7th day at the beach, the ocean view doesn't seem as magical as it was the 1st day. Heck, there are plenty of guys who got tired of waking up next to Jennifer Aniston; you can't tell me people don't get used to situations and can get a little lax.

There is some truth to this. I taught hazmat to new drivers. Handling, loading and unloading tankers. I worried less about the new trainees than the old veterans. The new guys tend to follow the guidlines and focus unlike the old guys.
I don't think anybody professed to be a ninja or samurai but shared what they do to take simple precautions to mitigate some of the risks.

Those precautions are all good, but it's just not possible to stay at Jeff Cooper's condition orange all of the time, as if everyone around you is about to lunge towards your gun. We're human and we can't live our lives if we're always participating in a "grab the gun" match where everyone is in on the game. Jeff Cooper came up with code yellow for a reason.
