Just getting into 5.56. What is a good price for range ammo? PSA has AMERICAN EAGLE 5.56MM 55GR FMJ 150RDS - XM193BK150 for $39.99 with free shipping. Good deal or not???? Thanks,

I think $30 per 100 is normal for xm193 brass cased

I wouldn't pay more than .30 cents per round for 55 grain nowadays.

.25-.26c is becoming more common. Hopefully it keeps going down.

Get into reloading, you can make 55 grain for 20 cents all day long.
If you like the 75 grain variety you can load those for 30 cents

This. I'm switching over to 68gr loads myself vs 55 because with the time factor being the same I might as well make the 50c a round ammo for 27c than the 30c round for 20c.

I don't put steel cases through an aluminium rifle.

If your barrel, carrier and bolt are made of aluminum then you may want to save a few more bucks for upgrades because standard ammo is going to destroy your gun pretty quickly.
