SAN ANTONIO - A man was taken to the hospital after he was shot by a guest at a party in his home, according to San Antonio police.

Police said the man was hosting a party at his house in the 5500 block of Prairie Flower Drive.

Police said he was checking guests for weapons at the door. While searching one man he found a gun and the two got into an altercation.

Police said the man reportedly shot the homeowner in the leg then fled along with a woman.

The homeowner could have saved himself a hospital visit by asking his guests to leave their arms at home...poorly written article.

    a. The homeowner doesn't know who his invited guests are?

    b. If you have to frisk your "guests" for guns, I'd think twice about inviting them.

Unless the party was at Mar-a-Lago I wouldn't take a frisking and I'd be ashamed to frisk people at a party at my own house. If I feel like I have to frisk you, you aren't a friend of mine.

Seriously, I have had uninvited guests show up at private parties.

Sad, but me and my wife's solution is to not have parties anymore. There are folks out there who will show up looking for free booze, drugs and booty they think they are going to find.

And as a corollary to that, if I were invited to party where guests were being frisked upon entry,

i'd turn around and leave. That is NOT my kind of party and those are not my kind of people.

No I would never go to a party like that, nor would I host a party like that.

Frisking requires a pat-down (seriously, who has their own wand), so no, not gonna happen, and I don't want to be at that party.
