If I were the FFL checking the 4473, and the information was incorrect, the sale would be cancelled. When the feds come around and scrutinize the paperwork, and find any error, the FFL will get called out on it. It happened and I know it. The realistic and simple solution is make sure the information is correct. If the buyer refuses to answer correctly, then I would refuse to make the sale. Its better to loose a small profit than the FFL.

Depending on their attitude, or if they are one sex, and identify as another(not clear which to be the birth sex) then they may lie on the form, and it can still fall on the FFL. If what they check differs from what is on their I.D, they can leave.
