I use a Ruger 22/45 lite and a SIG 1911/22.Both are finicky with sub sonics. As in some won't cycle, but they sure are quiet. Try a bolt action rifle for real quiet. Subs or shorts are scary quiet.

My 22/45 lite is consistently sub sonic and reliable with cci standard velocity & aac element 2.
