Default The Metropolitian diner: management confrontation

My wife, daughter, and I met my cousins and their kids for lunch at the Metropolitan Diner. Quite a few plates from NJ, NY, CT, and MD in the lot.

I open carried as usual: IWI Jericho 941 in a leather thumb break. There was a wait, so I took my daughter to the restroom. After I sat back down, a man and a waitress approached me.

Man: Do you have a gun on you?
    Me: yes I do
Man: well we have a liquor license so by law you can’t have it in here.
Me: that’s not the law In The commonwealth of PA. Would you prefer I cover it?
Man: well, can you go put it in the car? We don’t feel comfortable.
Me: well, I don’t have a lock box in there
Man: well, I can put it in my safe.
Me: I’m not comfortable giving you my pistol.
Man: look, Im just making it up as we go. In five years here I’ve never had this problem.

He never asked us to leave. At this point, my cousin’s wife said: “you know, we’ll just go eat somewhere else.”

So all 8 of us walked out with our 100 dollar plus bill and went to Texas Roadhouse half a mile away.

I thought it was quite strange that the manager wanted to put my pistol in his safe.

And the Liberal Democrat invasion of PA continues.
You did good taking your money elsewhere.
Perhaps everyone here should call them and ask if they allow armed patrons to eat in their establishment.

The Metropolitan is over near Costco and I've been there three our four times and I always carry. I'm surprised they even noticed. I usually have my shirt tail out covering my holster.

here's the Restaurant. It was quite 'uppity' there. The manager was cross-eyed, and I believe it was a waitress who complained (perhaps due to a customer from NJ or NY). http://www.metrodinerbar.com/

Well, I always respect property rights too. We took our money elsewhere.

On the website they virtue signal about all the charity fundraising they do to "give back" to their wonderful and supportive community. I dunno, sounds kind of lefty. If I check a diner's website I just want to know about the hash they're slinging and what time they close. Keep you charity giving to yourself.
