Re: Ready for fall
Ive had my new stand up for 3 weeks now. Deer feeder is out as well as mineral block. Got 4 cameras up. Damn bears are all over my feeder. Ive got 2 yearlings and a momma bear at the feeder everyday already. One 6pt showed up at the mineral block. Ive seen him before and was hoping her would be bigger this year. That was all after the feeder and block out a week. I'll check cameras again the end of the month and going to put in a little 10x10 food plot in that weekend as well.

Re: Ready for fall
Good luck and enjoy.
I've been tumbling, resizing brass.
I found some .06 brass my buddy ( now deceased) gave me quite a few years ago.
31 and 36 stamped.
I think I'll put a few Speer 150 grain spitzers over 57.5 grains of 4350 and dedicate a few shots to him.
Ran my rifles last week.
Crossbow out but need to shoot it.
I suppose you can say I'm getting there.Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.

Re: Ready for fall
Thank you sir.
I started years ago with the Speer Spitzer.
The Rem 760 pumpgun was a 2 to 2 1/2 " gun with a variety of factory ammo.
I suppose when I bought the RCBS Rockchucker, it came with a Speer reloading book and I used Speer bullets.
By lowering the IMR4350 charge to 57.5 grains, it brought the gun down to about 1 1/8" groupingl.
I know, inconsequential increments.
I eventually moved on to Nosler ballistic tips but even varying the charge, never got down to the Speer spread.
Last week, I took the rifles for a spin to see what the Palmetto PA10 would do at 100.
I also ran the Rem 760 with the noslers and had 6 rounds left over with Speer bullets loaded 8 Nov 1994 which resulted in the same grouping from all those years ago.
Anyway, I was cleaning my reloading cabinet and found a box of these Speer spitzers. I think the tag said $13 or so.
A very good friend passed a few years ago. He had given me these milsurp cases dated 31 and 36.
I'm going to run a batch of these with the old load data.
His son and I are now very good friends. I'll let him know I was thinking of his dad when I tumbled those cases and might hopefully score a deer and dedicate the score to his dad. Then we'lll share a beer and tell lies.
Enjoy your trip.
Hunt safe and good luck to you.

Re: Ready for fall
Okay, so it has finally happened. It is literally 40 degrees cooler than it was last week. I fished last night and the cottonwoods had dropped a few leaves on the ground. It was chilly with a brisk breeze. It SMELLED like fall.

Re: Ready for fall
I put this together a couple days ago.
I have to learn how to concolodate more than one SD card contents into a movie. Seems like I lose one card or the other.
