    Default Remington 14r carbine

My shop has a beautiful 32 Remington model 14r. It’s a real nice carbine Can’t even find any for sale on line. I want it but not sure of real value. Anyone own one or know of?
Not sure if it matters but it's also a takedown model - not sure if they all were ?

A good friend of mine has one he inherited from his grandfather, Ammo and or reloading components (casings) are nearly impossible to find. But yes, nice little rifle.

Ammo is out there, but not cheap:

Buffalo arms is my go to for 'interesting' calibers.

32 is out there at shops if you look around. it's stupid $$ . but can be made if you are patient.

I had a whole pack of 14,14r,141's a few years back . Cool design, I preferred the 35 rem models.

Generally $400-600,unless you encounter stumbling drunks who let them go for $80.

Thanks all. I thought being a carbine it would be a bit more "scarce" ? Just a nice looking rifle

Carbines are more scarce, but the 32 Rem chambering offsets the value because ammo is scarce and expensive. Somebody recently started making 30 Rem (the old one) brass and it can be necked up to 32 Rem, but you need an expensive set of dies. Better off just buying the Buffalo arms ammo. Don't pay over $400, IMO.

A 14 or 141 in 35 Rem is cheaper to shoot and just as fun; if you want a carbine buy a 35 Rem rifle and pay a good smith $120 to cut and crown the barrel, mill the barrel and solder the front sight back on. I did that to a 141 that had a bulged barrel 1.25" back from the muzzle. Really accurate now.
