They won't service it because they do not have the parts, most likely. That leaves a mix of gunsmiths having some parts.

Be careful buying a Python. A lot of them need work, the parts are unavailable, and the result is they go up for sale.

https://www.gunpartscorp.com/gun-manufacturer. IMO bobbing the hammer would ruin the beauty of that revolver. It would be better off in a glass display case with a note on the back explain the problem. That way your family will no its not to be shot.

A few years ago I had to send out one of my most favorite revolvers to Colt. They had it returned in just over a week. It made me nervous. The revolver was one of my fathers.

If this is the right part it costs $76.50 and appears to be in stock. IDK your exact frame model, V frame? The lawman and the trooper appear to have the exact same part #.
