I’m getting pretty sick of QC issues with new guns. Last two new Colt 1911s I bought had a damaged crown and a gouged frame near the frame rail. Not show stoppers, but annoying.

Just got a new Beretta 21 Bobcat. Brand new, and it has peen marks on the frame where the pivot pin was hammered in.
I examined three other models, and they all had these marks to varying degrees. One of them had rust spots all over the barrel.

It’s a nice pistol. The aluminum is very thick in the area that is peened. Opinions on whether this will affect the integrity of the alloy frame? I’m inclined to think it’s only cosmetic.
