Navajo Nation tries to scalp the second amendment.

It looks like the Navajo tribe is joining the anti-second amendment crowd as it made an offer to buy Remington. According to this article Remington turned down an offer from the tribe to purchase the company. It further said that if the tribe was able to buy the company, it had these sinister intentions:

The tribe’s plan for the company, however, included discontinuing the sale of modern sporting rifles, ramping up contracts with law enforcement and military and using profits to invest in “smart gun” technology. The Native American Incentive Act would give the tribe a leg-up in obtaining lucrative government contracts, according to the newspaper.
The only guns left for public consumption would be rifles and shotguns for hunters, according to the tribe’s lawyer, Drew Ryce. Plans also existed for production to move onto the reservation, providing jobs for its members. The Navajo Nation employment rate exceeds 70 percent, Ryce said.
“Navajo is a community of veterans and people of the land,” Ryce told the newspaper in an email Monday. “We are indifferent to the AR-15 and happy to leave that business behind.”

It seems to me like they tried to "scalp" Remington a company they tried to legally acquire which is 99% shit right now.
That being said I am glad Remington didn't make a deal with them although it would not be the 1st time they have made deals with the devil.

Navajo Nation... if ever there was a demographic I would expect to be pro gun and pro sporting rifle this is it. My prediction is there is something (someone) else behind this. Somebody or group with big money promises to the Navajo Nation is driving this train.

Of course. That's the way a lot of these gov contracts work. Companies, corporations, investment groups, etc. will partner with the tribes to help secure contracts.

Right? You'd really think that a group of people who had been ethnically cleansed by their government would recognize the importance of having effective tools to prevent it from happening again.

I've always said that women and minorities should be the most staunch pro-2A people out there. I guess I need to add Native Americans to the top of that list.
