Re: Should stand your ground laws apply to cases like this.
The jerk going 55 in a 55 is not enforcing the speed limit, he is obeying the law. The jerk tailgating, honking his horn and flashing his brights is the jerk. Unless you have blue and red lights on your vehicle, slow down and be safe. It might cost you 15 seconds of your time.
So where is the line on minding my own business?
Dog in a hot car with the windows rolled up. Just walk away because I am carrying?
Guy walks away with the wrong take out at Burger King. Say something or giggle?
Dumbas using his phone at the movie theater. "Dude, really"? or sit and stew because if he gets his panties in a wad you might have to shoot him?
Take a look at the signatures for Uncle Jumbo and Aggies coach. Words of wisdom.

Like I said before,if you can't hold your peace then speak your piece and move on....nothing good usually results from standing around and arguing.

Re: Should stand your ground laws apply to cases like this.
I've been following this on the Florida CC forum.
A self defense instructor did a frame by frame analysis of the video.
According to him, the aggressor turns his body and hides his right hand from the guy he shoved and hitches his elbow. Exactly the moves one would make if he were clearing a garment to draw a weapon.
That's when the guy sitting pulls his gun and shoots.
Of course the shooter did not know he was unarmed but any cop would be assuming he was armed and do the same.

A lot went wrong. The shove was unwarranted and extremely hard.
But upon drawing his firearm the father backed away.. The shooter should have gotten up and moved on or called the police..
I think he is EXTREMELY lucky he was not charged with murder.. IMHORetired US Army

Re: Should stand your ground laws apply to cases like this.
There are laws against slower traffic, 55 or not, especially when there is a long line of cars behind them and not just one guy flashing and beeping. Accidents happen this way when faster traffic begins to pass on the right, now they are in the blind spot of other cars. Whether it is the law or not, it is making the highway more unsafe. Someone recently got pulled over for it Indiana.
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
