I believe you can use your semi-auto for it but you're only allowed one round in the gun at a time so you'll still have to spoon feed it.

That's the way it is with my club, unless we're shooting doubles. Then I would load one in the tube and one in the chamber. However that's not really possible with magazine fed guns. Tactical shotguns aren't permitted at my club in general for trap use.
