Tried it, just not that into it. Can buy shaving cream, air-freshener and other one-off's at Wally world for about $0.50 a pop. Not the same effect, certainly. But for our casual shooting, same/more fun for the price with way less hassle. We're typically less looking for "boom" than "haha"...

Maybe too obvious, but I like shooting soda cans. It's the only thing soda is good for anyway.

You're 100% correct and my bad for forgetting: Cheap-ass diet-soda cans @ about $0.20 per have been another past favorite.

Only downside is high-maintenance: You gotta shake 'em up, get 'em out on on the firing line and shoot 'em within a few minutes before the pressure re-balances...

And yes, for whatever reason, diet-cola is far-and-away the best. Same as with the "mentos" thing.

We just had a fun shoot for kids, and these were a hit: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Umarex-Bi...Caps/535878033

A little bit of flour in the bottles makes a nice effect. The kids had a mini production line going when it was time to reset targets. They are high maintenance, but the kids loved it.

Having shot a mostly empty 20 pounder with an armor piercing incendiary round, I endorse this as long as there is no fire danger.
