Shield 9mm Trigger Frozen
Few years back I replaced the trigger with an Apex to cure the gritty feel, been working fine.
At the range today, fired a mag then trigger froze, wouldn't budge. I removed the ammo. I depressed only the trigger safety with one finger, then press the trigger with another finger and it clicked. But the trigger would lockup firing with my trigger finger.
This happened live firing with the Mantisx shield base plate for the Mantisx firearms training system: https://mantisx.com/ I replaced the shield base with their bluetooth adapter so it would communicate with my IPhone or my Kindle. I don't believe that caused the trigger failure because I dried fire for two weeks straight.
When I take the trigger assembly out, what should I look for?

Re: Shield 9mm Trigger Frozen
I also have a Shield 9mm it stays in the safe mostley for range time over 600 rounds thru it and not one FTF or FTE ! No trigger problems and never saw the need to do an APEX repair ! To each their own,But if your firearm was ever deployed for self defense and Deadly Physical Force the Prosecutor is going to have a field day in Court ! I leave well enough alone,if it does work dont fix it,a Reason I mostly carry Glock 43s and Glock 19 without any embelishments. If you have the original parts I recommend putting them back and training with the Shield the way it was intended ! Good Luck ! MDT

Re: Shield 9mm Trigger Frozen
If striker guns didn’t generally come with suck azz triggers, they wouldn’t have grown such a large and expensive upgrade market. I wouldn’t chastise a person for wanting a better trigger. Nobody has ever been convicted because of an aftermarket trigger. People have had their defense costs raised because of them. Expert witness and more research will do that. Seems we should pay better attention when voting for DAs.

I strongly suggest you carry a different gun until you get the situation worked out and understood.
It is a very bad idea to carry a gun that is unreliable.
Even if you swap out the parts you still need to take it back to the range and put a few hundred rounds through it to make sure it works without any issues. How can you have any cookies if you don't drink your milk?

Re: Shield 9mm Trigger Frozen
Found broken trigger return spring. Fortunately had a spare. Will take it to the range for some torture. Thanks all.

Re: Shield 9mm Trigger Frozen
Hope I don't have to use my G23 at night. Put new night sights on it and some prosecutor will have a field day showing I wanted to shoot somebody at night. (rolleyes).
