Default Anyone bought and shooting the T/C Compass in 6.5 Creedmoor?

I see them offered online for as little as $270 or so. Some reports of 1 moa out of the box. I'd like to get better, and assume it could be done by hand loading. Anyone been working with one?

look on youtube for Johnny's Reloading bench I'm pretty sure that's the one he has been shooting. He's working on a series right now for the CM in the AR platform.

I'm gonna pick up a .308 for Jr in the next few weeks.

The 6.5 is tempting but I don't need another caliber, and I have a metric shit ton of 7.62 surplus.

I have a 6.5. I shoot about 1.5moa currently with factory ammo. Still learning the gun as I only have about 40 rounds through it.

I bought it because I want to use it to hunt, and get into the 6.5cm game with a dedicated long range rifle. Seems like I'll get sub moa with some time and it might even shoot lights out with some handloads.

I picked up some CM 140 GR ammo off a guy he was selling because his TC liked 129's the best.

Bought a Compass, bought a box of 20 in 120gr A-Max. Can't say how the factory stuff did group-wise because I used it to zero the scope at 50 yards and moved on to testing my loads at 100 yards. I did hit steel at 200 yards with the factory 120.

Two of my loads, driving Sierra 130gr TMK, did a 1.120" 5-shot group. I was shooting seated bench, with a cheap bipod and rear bag.

I didn't break in the barrel, and the barrel got pretty hot towards the end (25 rounds fired without a cool-down). Also, recoil had slid the scope back against the rings, so they were not tight. Shot #25 was a bit of a vertical flier, converting what would have been a group smaller than MOA to the 1.120".

    There is a FPS puzzle. I used H4350, loading 39.7, 40.4, 40.9, 41.5 and 42.2.

    40.4 group of 5 averaged 2650, 40.9 did 2624, and 41.5 did 2655. Unfortunately, I hadn't noticed that the 42.2 load chrono'd errors.

A 1.1 grain difference did almost identical velocities? It's a Caldwell G2, supposedly accurate to within .25 percent (a quarter of one percent).

can't help you with that one Bang don't have a chrono. i loaded some IMR4350 on some 120's and 140's I think haven't gotten those to the range yet to see how they shoot but again I'm not shooting a TC.

Well, when the scope slid, its sudden stop loosened the reticle enough that bumping the scope with the heel of the hand made the reticle turn away from the vertical.

Removed the ocular piece and super-glued the threads, restoring the vertical. (Reticle is brass ring and wires). Guess its going on the .22 rifle for now until I see if it is reliable.

And they say the 6.5 Creedmoor doesn't have much recoil...
